This crinkled piece of paper hangs on my wall. I’ve seen it every single day for the last year. I can’t begin to explain how powerful this quote is. View high resolution

I’ve been slacking, but not on purpose. I’ve been getting so caught up in work and upcoming (exciting) events that I forget to take a 365 photo :/ Maybe I should set a calendar reminder…Anyways, it’s been raining all night. I went outside and hopped in my car to grab this shot :) View high resolution

When I see “311” I think about the band and NOT the freakin’ price of gas View high resolution

Oh hey Lambo….in Pinellas Park. Why am I driving faster than you? View high resolution

This isn’t a photo, but I definitely say that it counts. I spent nearly four hours today relearning the complete song, recording it, and mixing it with the original song. This is one of my favorites…”Right Here Waiting” by Richard Marx.

I hopped in my car today after an interview with Vitamin Shoppe, started the car, looked up and…oh hey bird just chillin on the hood! lol I had to go reverse and forward a couple times in my spot to get it to fly away. View high resolution

Ahhh Sunday. Slept in. Worked out. Started planning for my week. And went to Hooters for some grub with Sasha (left) and Tanya, Tampa Breeze player #13! Good times. View high resolution

Inspiration. It’s not always easy to identify it as that. But that is exactly what this is. Jeremy Cowart is an incredibly successful photographer. He’s a perfect example of what I am working to become. This is one of the images I came across while browsing his website.
This post is very personal, but that’s ok. I’m pretty sure that 99% of photographers (or anyone for that matter) experience similar thoughts. As an “up-and-coming” photographer, it is sometimes difficult for me to see the work of other photographers and not feel some sort of jealousy or think “wow…I’ll never be that good”. I also know that it’s natural for all of us to want to compare ourselves to others. But instead of creating these negative emotions or “comparing”, I’ve learned to channel this knowledge into personal and professional growth. I can only be myself. It does no good to compare myself to others. I know that if I continue to do what I love, learn from my experiences, surround myself with positive thinkers and a great support system, my life will be rich, fulfilling and extremely rewarding.
